Human growth and development is a continuous and orderly process. The pace and behaviors of this progress is highly personal.
To cater a quality care to clients, Nurses must understand the developmental tasks process; and identify the various stages of this development.
In this page we will discuss each stage of growth and development plus a bonus of relating every stage to SBI (Site Build It) in order to gain “freedom.“

In which age group do you belong?
Prenatal to Toddlerhood (Conception to 3 years) - Being a new mom is a HUGE challenge. Education is a must because we only want the best for our family. Knowledge of effective breastfeeding, proper procedure for preparing the formula and bottles; how to bathe and assess newborns are indispensable. A new baby’s sleep-wake schedule is erratic, it can be exciting and frustrating at the same time. New parents need to be reassured that this is normal.
From the first words of “Ma-ma” and “Da-da,” to playing peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake all the way to increasing vocabulary, the duration of maternity leave is not enough to spend time with your little one and miss their firsts in life (first step, first jump etc.) Is there any way I can spend time with my growing family and at the same time pay my bills? Preschool (3 to 6 years) - Preschool children are high risk to the spread of common childhood diseases. Parents are reminded to evaluate children’s toys for potential for injury. In their young age, children appreciate their parent’s availability and presence to guide and support them.
In return, children can bring us smile and at times a good laugh! after a long and hectic day.
School age (6 to 11 years) - During this stage, they skips, ties knots, skates and tumbles. They have significant peer relationships, enjoys hobbies and sports. It is very important for parents to be informed about the signs and symptoms of substance abuse by using safety devices for recreation and reading stories for their children at bedtime. Adolescence (11-21 years) - This is a crucial stage that marks the transition from childhood to adulthood. A lot of changes happens like increase of cognitive ability, formal operational thought, develops peer relationships with both sexes and makes occupational decisions. Young and middle adulthood (21-65 years) - Physical growth and functioning has been established. Develops self sufficiency and satisfaction with friendship and marriage. Middle adulthood (45-65 years) - personal and career achievements have often already been experienced and the person has socio-economic stability. Older adulthood (65 years and older) - Has general slowing of physical and cognitive functioning. They tend to reflect on life accomplishments, events and experiences in their lives.
